The best thing ever made. A work of genius, the greatest creation in the history of human civilization. Nothing has earned this yet and probably nothing ever will; it may not even be possible. A few things get very close, up to about 9.9. That is a true masterpiece.

Exceptional. Very good and an absolute marvel of its kind.

Very good. Near 9 it's exceptionally good. Near 8.0 it's simply great and absolutely worth watching: you'll get a lot of pleasure out of it.

Solid. Near 7.9: very enjoyable, great to watch, worth your time most of the time. Around 7.5: solid, modern fun, good in general, with a few flaws. At 7.0: good overall but with more flaws, far from a masterpiece, still something you might enjoy spending an evening on, at least most of it.

This is where it gets bad. A 6.9 is close to a good film, but only if it's your genre or you like the specific idea; for those fans it can still be enjoyable. In general it's close to boring.

The line between good and bad. This is where bad films start. Not worth watching at all, unless you're a huge fan or you absolutely love the idea; then, in rare cases, you might still come away satisfied.

Bad films, and it only goes down from here. I don't care to distinguish between shades of bad, so I rarely say much about this category. Analytically there are differences, bad, very bad, absolute garbage, so it's intellectually right to score them. I'm just not interested. I usually stop watching early and never get this far. This part is a cesspool. It exists, I won't pretend it doesn't, but you'd better not come close.
